The Andrews Labor Government has made an unprecedented investment in Victoria’s music industry with the launch of Music Under Wings, a $1.2 million professional development program for emerging contemporary music artists, industry personnel, live music events and venues.
The multi-faceted, three year program will offer mentoring by established musicians and industry leaders, masterclasses, skills development programs and business development training for anyone in the early stages of their music career – including performers, promoters, producers, technicians and more.
Part of the $22.2 million Music Works initiative, Music Under Wings will offer a suite of programs and activities to support Victoria’s music industry to grow at both an individual and industry-wide level.
Victorian non-profit youth music organisation, The Push has partnered with the Labor Government to deliver Music Under Wings.
Peak industry body Music Victoria will also manage a specialist Live Music Professional Development program which will support small music venues and independent promoters, especially those in regional Victoria, to build sustainable businesses.
