    Dear Martin,

    Before the last State election, Labor promised to buy 100 new trams costing $500m. Earlier this week, John Brumby promised 50 new trams costing $1b. I would like to know;

    1. are we getting a total of 150 new trams?
    2. of the trams promised 3 years ago, how many are currently on the tracks?
    2. how did trams quadruple in price in less than 3 years?
    3. when will the most recently promised trams be on the tracks
    4. are you embarrassed about Labor’s performance in public transport?
